The Nourish Project at Central West

Helping the community get access to fresh food

The Nourish Project provides food relief and support to the community. Food insecurity is an enormous issue for many Australians and as reflected by government statistics, the numbers of residents reporting food insecurity increased significantly between 2019 and 2020. This has continued to grow with the pandemic and the families requesting support has in turn increased.

Nourish meals are prepared weekly in a Community Centre Kitchen by qualified chefs and community volunteers and are distributed to the community from each of the houses by appointment and now from a shop front at Central West (next door to Dimmys) on a Wednesday 1-2.30pm.

By coming together in a convenient, central space, at Central West, The Nourish Project has expanded its reach and offer more support to the local community.

Each week The Nourish Project distribute fresh and/or frozen meals to over 150 households.
